Baseball takes four from NDSCS
The Williston State College Tetons baseball team delivered a dominant performance at home over the weekend, sweeping North Dakota State College of Science in a four-game MonDak Conference series. The Tetons secured victories by scores of 3-1, 11-1, 2-0, and 2-1.
Williston State set the tone early with a 3-1 win in Game 1 behind a complete-game effort from Cameron Fenn. The right-hander improved to 8-0 on the season, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out six and issuing no walks. Offensively, Ashton Sweet and Hanson Allen each recorded two hits, while Grant Nekuza and Matt Moreno Jackson drove in runs to lead the Tetons' attack.
The Tetons' bats came alive in Game 2, as they cruised to an 11-1 victory. Carter Reimer led the charge, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Ashton Sweet continued his strong weekend with three hits and two RBIs, while Dylan Klossner added a key three-RBI performance. Bradley Cepada and Grant Nekuza also contributed multi-hit efforts. On the mound, Collin Cobb was dominant, striking out 11 over five innings while allowing just one run on two hits.
Game 3 showcased a pitcher's duel, with the Tetons edging NDSCS 2-0. Nick Shrider was outstanding, tossing five shutout innings while striking out 10. Lachlan Amon secured the win with a two-inning save, striking out four and allowing no hits. Offensively, Williston State capitalized on limited opportunities, with RBIs from Bradley Cepada and Dylan Klossner providing all the scoring support needed.
The series finale was another tightly contested battle, as the Tetons completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory. Rowan Fredrickson earned the win, pitching six strong innings while allowing just one run on four hits. Amon recorded his second save of the weekend, closing out the final inning. Grant Nekuza scored one of the Tetons' runs, while Dylan Klossner and Tyler Jensen each drove in a run to secure the victory.
Across the four games, Williston State showcased a balanced effort with timely hitting, strong pitching, and consistent execution. The sweep strengthens the Tetons' position in the MonDak Conference race as they continue their push through the regular season.
