Tetons Win MonDak Championship
The Williston State College baseball team has once again claimed the top spot in the MonDak Conference, securing the 2026 title and marking back-to-back championships for the Tetons. Finishing the regular season with an impressive 43-12 overall record and a dominant 17-3 mark in conference play, Williston State has established itself as one of the premier programs in NJCAA Division II.
The Tetons' success this season has been built on elite pitching and airtight defense. As a staff, Williston State leads the nation with a 4.18 team ERA, while also ranking 11th nationally with 418 strikeouts. Week after week, the pitching staff set the tone, limiting opposing offenses and giving the Tetons a consistent edge.
At the forefront of that effort has been Nevada commit Collin Cobb, who has delivered a standout season on the mound. In 10 starts, Cobb has compiled 57.2 innings with a remarkable 1.87 ERA, striking out 95 batters while maintaining a stellar 0.95 WHIP. His ability to command games and shut down opposing lineups has made him one of the most reliable arms in the country.
Defensively, the Tetons have been just as dominant. Williston State boasts the top fielding percentage in NJCAA Division II at .980, a testament to their discipline, preparation, and execution in the field. That consistency behind the pitching staff has been a key factor in their championship run.
Offensively, the Tetons have been powered by a trio of high-impact contributors. Freshman infielder Dylan Klossner leads the way with a .406 batting average, collecting 67 hits and driving in 61 runs while adding 31 extra-base hits. Sophomore outfielder Ashton Sweet has been equally productive, hitting .392 with a team-high .495 on-base percentage, along with 49 RBIs and 25 extra-base hits. Grant Nekuza has also played a major role, batting .385 with 65 hits and 61 RBIs, while posting a .495 on-base percentage and .633 slugging percentage.
With a complete team effort across all phases of the game, the Tetons now turn their attention to postseason play. As MonDak Conference champions, Williston State enters the Region 13 Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The tournament will be held in Williston next weekend, where the Tetons will look to carry their momentum into a deep postseason run.
Additional information on the Region 13 Tournament, including matchups and game times, will be released in the coming days.
